Spence Leads Indians Past No. 7 Union County

UNION CITY, Ind. – A six-run fifth inning proved to be the difference on Tuesday as the Union City baseball team defeated seventh-ranked Union County 11-10.

The Indians fell behind 7-2 after three innings of the Tri-Eastern Conference affair before they rallied against the previously unbeaten Patriots.

With three runs in the fourth, the Indians cut their deficit to 7-5 before they exploded in the next frame to take the lead for good.

Trevor Spence and Zach Bradbury led the Indians with three hits each. Spence for the offensive force as he knocked in seven runs and added a homer.

Preston Scott and Mason Miller led the Patriots with two hits apiece.

Bailey Hughes earned the victory on the mound for the Indians, while Jacob Fulk picked up a save.

Union County (9-1, 2-1) visits Lawrenceburg on Wednesday.

Union City entertains Centerville on Thursday in a TEC contest.
