Highlights from Week Seven

Trevone Boykin

One of the highlighted performances during week seven of the season featured Heisman Trophy candidate Trevone Boykin of TCU.

Boykin led the No. 4 Horned Frogs (7-0, 4-0) to a 45-21 victory at Iowa State (2-4, 1-2).

The quarterback completed 27-of-32 passes for 436 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 74 yards and another score.

This season, Boykin has thrown for 2,539 yards and 25 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He has tossed at least four touchdowns passes in five of TCU’s seven contests.

Luke Falk

Luke Falk

Luke Falk continued his success at Washington State as he racked up six touchdown passes for the Cougars (4-2, 2-1) in their 52-31 victory over Oregon State (2-4, 0-3).

Falk connected on 39-of-50 attempts for 407 yards with all six of his scoring passing coming in the first half as the Cougars built a 45-17 advantage.

Christian McCaffrey

Christian McCaffrey

Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey gained 243 yards on 25 carries to lead the Cardinal (5-1, 4-0) to a 56-35 PAC-12 win over UCLA (4-2, 1-2).

McCaffrey scored four times on runs of nine, 28 yards in the second quarter before adding 70 and six carries in the third period.

Zach Pascal

Zach Pascal

Zach Pascal of Old Dominion (3-3, 1-1) led his team to a 37-34 win over Charlotte (2-4, 0-3).

Pascal caught 11 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns. His final score proved to be the game-winner with 2:18 remaining as he grabbed an 11-yard pass from Old Dominion quarterback David Washington.

Heisman Watch

In addition to Boykin, LSU’s Leonard Fournette and Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott had solid performances to add to their Heisman resumes.

Fournette gained 180 yards with a pair of touchdowns as the Tigers (6-0, 4-0) won 35-28 over SEC foe Florida (6-1, 4-1).

This season, Fournette leads the nation with 1,202 yards rushing as he’s scored 14 times.

Elliott had 27 carries for 153 yards as the Buckeyes posted a 38-10 win over Penn State (5-2, 2-1). He also had four receptions for 21 yards.

Expected to reach the 1,000-yard mark this week at Rutgers, Elliott has 988 yards on the ground with 11 touchdowns adding 20 catches for 131 yards.
