MONROE, Ind. – Despite trailing at halftime, the Winchester girls basketball team bounced back and pulled away in the second half for a victory at Adams Central.

The Jets led 29-25 at the intermission, but the Falcons put together a 13-3 third quarter to change the direction of the non-conference affair.

Winchester put the game away in the fourth stanza out scoring Adams Central 16-5.

The Falcons had three players in double figures as Liz Pegg leading the way for the second straight contest with 17 points. She added 10 rebounds and four steals.

Becca Neville also recorded a double-double with 12 points and a team-high 16 rebounds.

After a scoreless first half, Mariah Roberts finished with 16 points to go with four steals.

Sarah Mallory contributed six points, five rebounds and three steals.

Kara Keller led the Jets (0-4) with eight points.

Winchester’s JV remained unbeaten through four contests as the Falcons won 39-29. Hannah Graft had nine points, while Autumn Dixon added eight points.

The Falcons (3-1) open their Tri-Eastern Conference schedule at Tri on Friday.
