Cambridge City Advances in Tournament

baseball clip artRUSHVILLE, Ind. – The Cambridge City All-Stars won a pair of contests on Monday to advance to the 14u Little League Junior District Championship.

The team defeated Rushville 16-4 and White River Anderson 20-1.

Cambridge City faces the winner of Rushville and Anderson for the championship on Saturday. Those two teams were rained out on Wednesday and are scheduled to play on Thursday.

Bryce Pennington picked up the win on the mound in the first game.

Mason Dick led the way with three hits and four runs with one RBI.

Logan Alexander, Jacob Longo and Hayden Pierce all had two hits. Alexander scored twice, while knocked in two runs ans Pierce added one RBI.

Nolan Miller had a hit and scored two runs as Josh Miles and Cameron Gumm also had hits.

Against Anderson, Dick was the winning pitcher. At the plate, he had four hits, two RBI, four stolen bases and scored three times.

Pennington also had four hits, four RBI and three runs scored. Miller’s line was similar with four hits, three RBI, three runs and four stolen bases.

Pierce had two hits, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Alex Hokey walked three times and stole four bases. Darien Bishop tripled to knock in a run.
