Winchester Outlasts Knightstown

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. – The Winchester volleyball team opened Tri-Eastern Conference play on Monday with a 25-22, 25-21, 26-24 victory at Knightstown.

Shelby Miller served the match out for the Golden Falcons during the third set after the were 24-21.

Bri Bogue and Morgan Friend had five aces each.

Riley Helms tallied 19 assists while Shelby Miller notched 8 kills, and Morgan Friend, Bri Bogue,and Mykah Keener each added 5.

Alyssa Ozbun fought defensively to make 13 digs for the night, while Morgan Friend had 12 digs and Kara Mosier provided 3 digs.

The leaders for the Panthers were Rena’ Witham with four kills and 18 digs. Kamryn Reed had two blocks, four digs and 15 assists.

Candice Wyatt added two aces, two blocks, eight digs and two kills as Maggie Smith finished with seven digs.

Trinidie Newby had four digs and three kills.

Winchester entertains Jay County on Tuesday. Knightstown visits Blue River on Wednesday.
