Northeastern headlined the All-Tri-Eastern Conference selections for boys basketball that were announced on Tuesday with four Knights being honored.

Tyler Smith topped the list for the Knights as he claimed the TEC Player of the Year.

“Tyler is very deserving,” Northeastern Head Coach Brent Ross. “I feel like he has matured into a team leader.”

Tyler Smith averaged 20.8 points per game, while finishing with a Northeastern single-season scoring record of 581 points. The junior is second on Northeastern’s all-time scoring list with 1,258 points.

“He has had some great moments in the conference over the last three years,” Ross said. “I know for him to win this award, he is very honored.”

It was also his second honor this week as he named an Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Subway Player of the Week on Monday.

Robert Smith, Bailey Stewart and Nate Reynolds were the other Knights selected.

Hagerstown and Union County had two choices apiece.

Jared Andis and Bret Templin represented the Tigers, while Logan Sanford and Dillon Miller were the Patriots on the squad.

Rounding out the team were Alex Brandon of Centerville, Isaac Davison of Union City, Kiante Enis of Winchester and Garrett Pumphrey of Lincoln.
