Top-Ranked Titans Beat Royals

Tri High’s Payton Moore

LEWISVILLE, Ind. –
Tri High softball team posted an 11-3 victory over Eastern Hancock on Friday night.

Payton Moore was the winning pitcher for the top-ranked Titans recording 11 strikeouts without a walk.

“Eastern Hancock is a quality team and it was nice to come out and control the game from the onset,” Titan Coach Duke Falck said.

The Titans scored in every inning except the fifth, while they blasted 15 hits in the contest.

In the first inning, Tri put two runs on the board to grab an early lead. With one out, Moore got a single up the middle to get things started. She advanced to second on Lauren Bouslog’s single. They both moved up a base on a wild pitch to put two runners in scoring position.

Later in the frame with two outs, Kaley Harrison stepped to the plate and hit a long drive off the top of the fence and came back in for a double which scored both Moore and Bouslog.

In the second inning, Breanna Reece was hit by a pitch and Kassidy Stewart walked to give Tri runners at first and second. Destiny Taylor laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the runners to scoring position.

Moore then hit another single to score both Reece and Stewart to give Tri a 4-0 lead.

The Titans continued the offensive onslaught with three more runs in the third. Kierstyn Conyers led the inning off with a single and Harrison got her second of four doubles. Chloe Gentry followed with the first home run at Lady Titan Field with a blast to left field off the scoreboard to score three runs.

Lauren Bouslog led off the fourth with a triple to right center field. She scored on a RBI ground out by Conyers.

With one out, Harrison smashed her third double of the game before Gentry hit another line shot off the fence for a double to score Harrison and record her fourth RBI.

Bouslog and Conyers had back-to-back singles to begin the sixth. Harrison ripped her fourth double and third RBI of the game with a smash off of the center field fence scoring Bouslog.

Gentry hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Conyers for her fifth RBI.

Tri High (5-1) entertains Anderson Prep on Monday.
