MORRISTOWN, Ind. – Tri got off to a fast start on Saturday as the Titans won the Kopper Kettle Classic title.
The Titans beat Eastern (Greene) 37-36 in the championship contest, after winning their first game in the affair 62-41 over the host Morristown squad.
Addy Edwards and Mackenzie Peggs led the Titans in the win over Eastern. Edwards tossed in 11 points and Peggs finished with 10, while both players led the way with five rebounds each. Payton Moore contributed eight points.
After being tied 7-7 at the end of the first period, the Titans fell behind and trailed 20-15 at the half. Tri cut the deficit to 30-29 after three quarters before the Titans came back to win in the final stanza.
Against Morristown, the Titans had a very balanced attack. Moore and Kylie Dishman topped the squad with nine points apiece.
Peggs, Edwards and Mara Biehl each ended with eight points. Dishman, Moore and Edwards all pulled down six rebounds.
Tri (2-0) entertains Blue River on Friday, Nov. 13.
