WINCHESTER, Ind. –
The hard work paid off for Winchester’s Lindsey Schroeder on Friday as she signed with Indiana Wesleyan University to continue her swimming career.

“A lot of self motivation and hard work,” Schroeder said of being the only swimmer representing Winchester this season. “I had a goal that I wanted to reach and did not stop until I did.”

Located in Marion, Indiana Wesleyan is a NAIA school that just completed its first season as a program under head coach Laurissa Dalyrumple.

“I chose IWU because I was looking for a smaller college close to home,” said Schroeder, who is the daughter of Amy and Todd Schroeder. “I love the fact that it is a Christian college and the professors get to know you as a person not just a student.”

“I also love the positive attitude of the students while you are on campus,” she added. “I am planning to go into the Pre-Dental program.”

The Wildcats finished 12th during the NAIA National Championships in Columbus, Ga.

This season, Schroeder was third in the 200-yard freestyle at the Jay County Sectional with a time of 2:07.9.

Schroeder was also seventh in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.17 at the sectional.
