Patriots Come Up Short at Shenandoah

Union County’s Cameron Donovan passes against Lincoln on Feb. 1, 2018.

MIDDLETOWN, Ind. –
The Union County boys basketball team had its eight-game winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon as the Patriots fell 56-45 to Shenandoah.

“Our guys came out a little flat and Shenandoah came out on fire,” Union County Head Coach Jesse Moses said. “Our guys clawed back and fought.”

“We had a few opportunities to tie the game up in the fourth, but the shots just didn’t fall,” Moses said. “We aren’t thrilled with the outcome, but can’t help but love the fight. We will learn from it and march forward.”

Cameron Donovan led the Patriots with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Mason Miller added 13 points.

Union County (14-4) entertains Morristown (18-1) on Tuesday.

Ranked fifth in Class 1A the Yellow Jackets have won 16 games in a row.
