Panthers Win TEC Contest

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. –
The Knightstown girls softball team posted a 20-2 victory over Tri-Eastern Conference foe Union City on Wednesday night.

The Panthers fell behind by two runs after the Indians batted in the top of the first before the scored seven times in the bottom of the frame to take charge of the contest.

Jess Butler, Kaitlyn Jackson and Lexy Goodpaster all had three hits for the Panthers.

Goodpaster, Sidney Vise, Makenna Leisure and Courtney Carlton each added two hits apiece.

Vise worked three innings on the mound with six strikeouts, while Trinidie Newby tossed the last two frames.

For Union City, Katie Reichard had a hit to knock in two runs.

Mackenzie Green, Abigail Crowder and Shelby King each added a hit.

The Panthers (9-9, 3-3) visit Wes-Del on Thursday.

Union City (4-12, 2-4) travels to Daleville on Saturday.
