Panthers Beat Indians in TEC Contest

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind.
– The Knightstown baseball team posted a 10-7 Tri-Eastern Conference victory over Union City on Monday.

After Union City scored a run in the top of the first, the Panthers scored four times in the bottom of the frame and held the advantage the rest of the way.

Jose Olivo picked up the win on the mound for the Panthers, while Trevor Spence got the loss for the Indians.

Owen Wiles and Kaunner Cleek topped Knightstown with two hits and two RBI.

Bruce Nichols and Levi Black each had a hit and drove in two runs.

Tyler Burton added a hit and one RBI. Jarred Porter and Olivo also had two hits.

Union City’s offense was led by Zach Bradbury, who had three hits with two RBI and a stolen base.

Spence had two hits and two stolen bases.

Dawson Thornburg, Kyler Purdin, Jacob Fulk and Jacob Curry each had a hit.

The Indians (12-5, 5-2) face Seton Catholic in Richmond at McBride Stadium on Tuesday.

The Panthers (11-11, 4-3) are back in action on Wednesday at Wapahani.
