Knights Face Rebels in Opener

LYNN, Ind. – The Northeastern girls basketball team fell 42-34 in its season opener at Randolph Southern on Friday night.

Madi Clay led the scoring effort with 14 points, while Jenna McFarland scored eight points.

Emma Wright tossed in six points. Kasey Andrews and Olivia Harris both finished with three points.

The Knights trailed 12-7 after one period, but they battled back to tie the contest at 18-18 by halftime. The Rebels led 31-28 at the third stop.

Northeastern won the JV contest 30-15. Kelsey Cottongim had 10 points. Aunika Railsback had seven and Willow Runyon had five points.

The Knights (0-1) visit Cowan on Saturday.
