Indians Win High-Scoring TEC Game

UNION CITY, Ind. –
The Union City baseball team won its 10th straight game on Thursday as the Indians defeated Northeastern 16-13 in a wild Tri-Eastern Conference affair.

After a scoreless first inning, both teams heated up offensively and the game was eventually tied 13-13 heading into the bottom of the fifth.

The Indians scored three times in the bottom of the frame to put the game away.

Gabe Loesch and Zach Bradbury both had two hits including homers as they drove in five runs apiece to lead the Indians.

Jacob Curry also knocked in two runs. Trevor Spence added two hits.

Jacob Fulk picked up the win in relief for Union City.

For the Knights, Justin Bane had four hits with a homer and a double with four RBI.

Connor Bray, Quantrell Gammon, and Nate Fletcher all two hits. Gammon and Fletcher finished with two RBI each.

Colton Alexander doubled as he had three RBI.

Both teams return to action on Saturday.

The Indians (12-2, 5-1) entertain South Adams, while Northeastern (4-10, 2-5) faces Hagerstown in the Wayne County Tournament hosted by the Tigers.
