The Lincoln softball team took control of the Tri-Eastern Conference standings on Friday night as the Golden Eagles scored in the bottom of the eighth inning to post a 1-0 victory over top-ranked Tri High.

Laynie Russell tripled with two outs and later scored the game’s only run on an error to give the Golden Eagles the win.

Lincoln is now 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the TEC and on top in the league, while the Titans are 14-2, 4-1.

Hannah Hall worked the first 6⅓ innings on the mound for the Golden Eagles with two strikeouts.

Kaleigh Lamb earned the victory by not allowing a run over the final 1⅔ innings.
