Centerville Diver Finishes 15th at State Meet


INDIANAPOLIS –
Centerville’s Jonathan Jellison made it to the finals in diving at Saturday’s state swimming championships at the Natatorium at IUPUI and finished 15th overall with 389.35 points.

The sophomore began the day in the prelims with 187.85 points, which put him in 14th place. The total was good enough to be in the top 20 to advance to the semifinal round.

In the semifinals, Jellison moved up to 13th with 292.45. The top 16 competed in the finals.

Jellison and Jack Schwartz of Valparaiso were the only sophomores in the finals that featured eight seniors and six juniors. Schwartz was 13th with 406.55 points.

Richmond senior Isaac Khamis won the event for the second straight year as he posted 583.40 points.
