Hagerstown Sweeps Jay County

HagerstownPORTLAND, Ind. – The Hagerstown baseball team swept a twinbill from Jay County on Saturday as the Tigers won the opener 18-6 before taking the second contest 7-6.

Dylan Woolard and Mason Hicks led the Tigers with two hits each as the Tigers took advantage of eight errors by Jay County.

Cam Purtha and Hicks both knocked in two runs.

Brett Burns started for the Tigers and worked five innings to get the win as he allowed just one hit.

In the second game, the Tigers fell behind 5-0 after two innings before fighting back to get the win.

Hicks, Trey Kelley and Owen Golliher led the Tigers with two hits apiece. Kelley and Frank Bush both knocked in a pair of runs.

Woolard picked up the victory on the mound, while Kelley earned a save.
