LIBERTY, Ind. –
Derek Dearth scored five touchdowns on Friday as Union County defeated Winchester 54-8.

Dearth ran for scores of nine, 11 and 17 yards in the first period as the Patriots went on top 20-0.

For the contest, Dearth ran for 145 yards as he added another rushing touchdown in the second frame along with a 72-yard scoring pass from Blake Fields.

Fields finished the night 8-for-10 for 225 yards with three scoring strikes. In addition to Dearth, Nate Webb and Ryan Hensley caught touchdown passes.

Mason Wicker had a 7-yard run for Union County’s final touchdown.

Cole Campbell scored Winchester’s touchdown on a 15-yard run. He finished with 64 yards rushing.

Chase Thompson led Union County with 11 tackles, while Campbell and Jordan Key had four tackles apiece for the Golden Falcons.

Union County (3-1, 2-0) travels to Hagerstown next Friday, while Winchester (0-4, 0-3) entertains Lincoln.
