Football Preview: Knightstown

Knightstown Head Coach Kevin Miller is in his fifth season with the Panthers.


KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. –
Knightstown Head Coach Kevin Miller welcomes back eight seniors as he begins his fifth season with the Panthers.

Knightstown has joined the Tri-Eastern Conference as a school, but from a football standpoint the Panthers will begin competing next season for the championship.

The leading offensive performer returning from last year’s 3-8 squad is quarterback Tyler Burton.

Burton threw for 977 yards and 12 touchdowns, while adding 478 yards on the ground with seven scores.

The top target back for Burton is Tucker Personett. He had 20 catches for 387 yards and three touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, Knightstown’s leading tackler Garrett Thomas returns after posting 121 stops last season.

The Panthers open the season at home against future league foe Northeastern on Friday.

Knightstown also faces Hagerstown on the road on Friday, Aug. 25. Tri is the only other TEC opponent the Panthers play this season as they entertain Tri on Friday, Sept. 29.
