Titans Look for First State Title

Tri meets Tecumseh in the Class 1A state championship game on Saturday, June 10.

Winning tournament games has become part of the Tri girls softball program.

On Saturday, the sixth-ranked Titans (25-3) have the opportunity to win the biggest contest in school history as they face No. 5 Tecumseh (22-9) in the Class 1A state championship game at Ben Davis High School at 10:30 a.m.

“We are living a dream come true,” Tri Coach Bryan Peggs said. “We are going to enjoy this journey.”

The Titans have won four straight sectional titles and three consecutive regional crowns.

“Our girls have worked hard all year and have built on the foundation set for them from the program the last few years,” Peggs said.

Tri has won 14 games in a row, including a 4-3 victory over South Central last weekend in the semi-state championship game.
