Bulldogs Fall in Regional Title Match

RICHMOND, Ind. – Centerville’s season as a team came to an end on Thursday as the Bulldogs fell 3-2 to Oldenburg in the Richmond Girls Tennis Regional.

The Bulldogs (20-2) swept the doubles competition from the Twisters (17-2) on the Tiernan Center Courts.

In the final contest of the match, Centerville’s top doubles team of Lizzy Wather and Shelby Good outlasted Hanna Hurm and Sarah Preston 1-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3.

With their victory, Walther and Good remain unbeaten in tourney action and as a result they are still alive in doubles tournament.

The Centerville duo faces Abbie True and Kamryn Reed of Knightstown on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

True and Reed beat Taylor Steele and Shelby Brown of Connersville 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-2) on Thursday.

At No. 2, Centerville’s Katy Stewart and Morgan Guenther defeated Carson Thompson and Sarah Price 6-4, 6-2.
