Hagerstown Wins Tiger Booster Invitational

HAGERSTOWN, Ind. – Hagerstown’s track teams swept the 35th annual Tiger Booster Invitational on Friday night at Cory Field.

Hagerstown led the way in the boys meet for the fourth straight year as the Tigers finished with 176.5 points, while Lincoln was second with 118. The other teams scores were Northeastern 97.5, Shenandoah 71, Blue River 54, Centerville 36 and Tri 24.

On the girls side, the Tigers claimed their ninth title in a row as they had 164 points with Centerville finishing second with 142.5 points. The other scores were Shenadoah 81, Blue River 72.5, Lincoln 43, Northeastern 34 and Tri 20. Hagerstown also won the combined trophy for the eighth consecutive year.

“We had a great effort,” Hagerstown Head Coach Kent Gray said. “We didn’t know if we were going to do this thing at all.”

Rain and windy conditions delayed the start of the meet.

“It ended up being a nice evening for it,” Gray said. “We knew the times and distances wouldn’t be great under the circumstances, but you race for position. That’s what we did.”

Individually, Lincoln’s Bryant Hilbert led all of the boys in scoring, while Hagerstown’s Aimee Hoodlebrink led all of the girls in points for the second time in her career having also done it in 2015.

Hoodlebrink won three events as she claimed the 100 (13.37), 200 (27.97) and the long jump (15-1¼).
