Centerville Sweeps New Castle

CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Centerville’s swim teams celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday as the Bulldogs swept New Castle.

The girls won 133-50, while the boys earned a 124-43 victory.

Seniors Sophia Neher, Amelia Boicourt, Maddie Riggott and Ashley Williams lead the team to an undefeated dual meet season at 8-0.

Aubrey Davis broke her own school record in winning the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:01.86. Davis also won the 200 IM.

Sydney Whiteley won the 50 Free and the 100 Free. Grace Whiteley won the 100 Fly and the 100 Breast. Jolie Rusznak won diving. Neher won the 200 Free. Boicourt won the 500 Free.

Tory Cruse, Grace Whiteley, Davis and Kayla Newman won the 200 Medley Relay. Grace Whiteley, Boicourt, Riggott and Neher won the 200 Free Relay. Cruse, Neher, Sydney Whiteley and Davis won the 400 Free Relay.

For the boys, seniors Aydan Koyles, Jonathan Larsen, John Neely and Ryan Hugo led the team to a 6-1 dual meet record.

Parker Jaynes won the 200 IM and the 500 Free. Nico Wankerl won the 50 Free and the 100 Backstroke. Larsen won the 200 Free. Jonathan Jellison won diving.

Parker Neher, Wankerl, Koyles and Neely won the 200 Medley Relay. Larsen, Jaynes, Neely and Wankerl won the 200 Free Relay. Ben Nevels, Konner Duncan, Jellison and Neher won the 400 Free Relay.

The boys will host the Centerville Swimming and Diving Invitational on Saturday.

The girls have finished the regular season and will begin competition in the sectional at New Palestine on Thursday, Feb. 2.
