WINCHESTER, Ind. – Elias Gates scored three times and ran for 151 yards as the Winchester football team beat Madison-Grant 30-0 on Friday night in Class 2A sectional action.
With the win, the Golden Falcons (8-2) move on to play at Eastbrook (9-1) next Friday in the semifinal round.
One of the three touchdowns for Gates came on an 88-yard kickoff return to start the second half as Winchester grabbed a 14-0 advantage.
Austin Lawrence had the other score for Winchester as he ran for 52 yards.
Defensively, John Thornburg led the way for the Golden Falcons with 19 tackles with five stops for a loss.
Tyler Edwards added 15 tackles and an interception.
