Mackenzie Peggs
Tri’s Mackenzie Peggs was named the Player of the Year as the All-Tri-Eastern Conference Softball Team was announced.
“Mackenzie had a great career,” Tri Head Coach Bryan Peggs said. “She broke every school hitting record.”
“She carried out program to where it is today,” he continued. “She is not only an outstanding softball player, she is also a terrific person and student as was the Salutatorian in her graduating class.”
Peggs was also exceptional on the field as the Titans finished 17-6 just one win away from the Class 1A state championship game.
“She did not make a single error in conference play at shortstop,” the Titans coach said. “As a lead off hitter, she hit .586 with a 600 on base percentage. She is a total class act. It has been an honor to coach her.”
Northeastern had Sierra Gilmore, Katie Schneider, Leah Hoskins and Katelyn Williams all make the squad after the Knights won the TEC crown.
Lincoln and Union County each had three earn All-TEC.
Madison Siggers, Hannah Hall and Emmie Pugh represented Lincoln, while Tanner Henry, Madison Walters and Emma Adams were the Patriots that earned a spot.
Centerville and Hagerstown both had two on the list as Lauren Honkomp and Kaylin Smith were the Bulldogs with the Tigers having Gabby Willis and Taylor Kelley make it.
The others on the team were Kirsten Falck of Tri, Kali Miller of Union City and Morgan Friend of Winchester.
