The next round of the IHSAA Boys Golf Tournament for the remaining players from the Tri-Eastern Conference is set for Friday’s Muncie Central Regional at The Players Club in Yorktown.

Hagerstown is the only TEC team in the field of 18 squads that start at 8 a.m.

“I’m excited about getting the chance to play at Players Club in the Regional,” Hagerstown’s Ben Tinkle said. “Hopefully, I will play my best golf just to see what happens.”

The Tigers posted a score of 341 on Monday to finish second in the Richmond Sectional.

The host Red Devils won the event at Forest Hills, while Franklin County also advanced as the third place team.

A state qualifier a year ago, Tinkle led Hagertown with an 81.

Kyle Cochran was next with an 85. Caleb Cochran added an 88, Jonathan Clark finished with 89 and Kevin Beeson had 100.

“We have a lot of kids playing really well right now,” Hagerstown Head Coach Billy Mullin said. “I’m just glad to coach these kids for another week.”

“The Players Club is a course our kids are really comfortable on and they really like it,” Mullin added.

Centerville’s Mason Rader is making his third appearance as an individual in the regional  after carding an 81 on Monday.

“I’m hoping to play a lot better there this year,” Rader said. “I’m going to get a couple of practice rounds in and get ready.”

Tri’s Konner Fabrick (84) and Union County’s Tyler Dunn (86) both making their first trips.

The top three teams move on to the state meet in Carmel at the Prairie View Golf Club on June 14-15. Both days begin at 8 a.m.

The top five individuals not on advancing teams also qualify for the state affair.
