The girls squad has a small roster, but senior Ashley Waddups is the defending Tri-Eastern Conference champion in the 100-meter hurdles.

“This is still a building process,” Girls Head Coach Justin Jones said. “We’re looking to create an environment of positive attitudes.”

“With such a small team, it is going to be difficult to compete, but we will approach it looking for success in our relays and individually,” Jones said. “We have high expectations on relay teams and looking to get multiple girls out of sectional which has not been done at UC in some time.”

Junior Kora Kerns was a regional qualifier last season in the 3,200-meter run.

The other members of the team are senior Taylor Crowder, junior Emma Baron, junior Jennifer Perez, sophomore Audrey Sullenbarger, freshman Reagan Hoggatt and freshman Sophie Spence.

The Indians begin the season with a meet at Greenville in Ohio on Tuesday, April 5.
