Patriots Get Back on Winning Track

ST. LEON, Ind. –
The Union County boys basketball team ended its three-game losing streak on Tuesday as the Patriots won 51-37 at Eaast Central.

“Our attention to detail and execution was superb,” Union County Head Coach Jesse Moses said. “We had an entire group of guys maximizing their roles. It made for a good night.”

“Derek Dearth, Cameron Donovan and Ryan Hensley did a great job on their big kid,” Moses added. “Our guards were locked in on their assignments and rotations.”

Mason Miller led the Patriots with 22 points.

Trevor Reiboldt tossed in 11 points, while Donovan added nine.

The Patriots led 12-6 after the first quarter before they held a 19-12 advantage at the half.

In the third frame, Union County was able to maintain its distance at 29-20 before adding to the margin in the final period.

Union County (15-6, 6-1) travels to Union City (4-16, 0-6) on Friday with a chance to clinch a share of the Tri-Eastern Conference title with a win over the Indians.

It would be the first TEC championship for the Patriots since 2012.
