Winchester Falls in Battle of Ranked Teams

PARKER CITY, Ind. –
The seventh-ranked Winchester girls basketball team fell for the first time on Saturday as No. 5 Monroe Central defeated the Golden Falcons 58-47.

Winchester led 17-13 after the first quarter between the Class 2A Randolph County schools, but the Golden Bears answered to take a 30-22 halftime lead.

Monroe Central led 37-33 at the end of the third period.

Kira Robinson led Winchester with 14 points as she grabbed four rebounds.

Maddie Lawrence had 13 points to go with a team-high 11 rebounds and four steals.

Shelby Miller finished with seven points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Becca Chamberlin added seven points and three steals.

Hannah Graft tossed in six points with four steals.

Winchester dropped the JV contest 43-21 with Kaibrey Campbell scoring 13 points for the Golden Falcons.

Winchester (8-1) travels to South Adams (6-2) on Tuesday.
