Burton to Play Baseball at Anderson

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. –
Tyler Burton is headed to Anderson University to continue his baseball career.

Earlier this week, the Knightstown senior celebrated his decision.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to attend Anderson University to play baseball and continue my educational career,” Burton said. “I really enjoy the coaching staff at AU and can’t wait to get started.”

“I would like to thank my family and past coaches for giving me the opportunity to play so much baseball and get to where I am now,” Burton added.

Burton batted .565 in 21 games for the Panthers last season with a pair of homers as he knocked in 21 runs. Overall, he had 39 hits with four-hit performances against South Decatur, Northeastern and Tri High.

As a pitcher for the Panthers in 2017, he was 4-2 with an ERA of 2.26. He tosses a complete game victory against Tri High with 11 strikeouts.

Anderson is a NCAA Div. III school that competes in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
