Golden Eagles Win at Home

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. –
Lincoln’s football team picked up its first win on Friday as the Golden Eagles defeated Union County 12-8 in a Tri-Eastern Conference contest.

Jeremiah Holder scored on a pair of 1-yard runs in the first half as the Golden Eagles build a 12-0 advantage.

In the third period, Mason Wicker scored for Union County to close the gap with the Patriots able to add the two-point conversion.

Holder finished with 63 yards rushing to lead Lincoln.

Derek Dearth topped Union County with 37 yards on the ground to go with a pair of catches for 15 yards.

Defensively, Chase Hokey led Lincoln with eight tackles including a two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Ethan Curry led Union County with seven tackles.

Lincoln (1-5, 1-3) travels to Union City (2-4, 1-3) next Friday, while the Patriots (3-3, 2-2) entertain Northeastern (3-3, 2-2).
